Saying the MonoGame Basis – Information – Neighborhood
Two months in the past, we announced our intention to create a non-profit group to assist fund and safe the way forward for the MonoGame framework as an open-source initiative.
Immediately, we’re happy to announce that the MonoGame Basis is formally in enterprise and has utilized for non-profit standing (which is pending validation).
The MonoGame Basis’s purpose is to bolster the event of the MonoGame framework by voting and funding initiatives to strengthen or develop the open-source challenge. To this function, the Patreon and energetic donations have been redirected to this new entity.
This new step wouldn’t be attainable and not using a main sponsor: Re-Logic, builders of Terraria, who’ve dedicated to assist the inspiration with a $100,000 donation. On behalf of the inspiration board, we wish to have a good time their assist and dedication to open-source software program, in addition to renewing our due to previous, current, and future donors.

Woo! That is such an enormous step forwards and having the (large) backing of a beloved studio like Re-Logic is large information. I can’t wait to see the expansion MonoGame’s going to have now that it has the sources to compete with no less than the massive FOSS engine that’s Godot.
