Oxfordshire ‘explosion’ as lightning strike seen from A34

Homeowners and motorists have shared movies of the sky being lit up on Monday night from round 7pm.

One eyewitness stated: “Noticed this unusual pulsing sky out of our home windows wanting north west of Oxford. I’m guessing it’s a fireplace brought on by the lightning storm that handed over.”

A press release from Severn Trent Inexperienced Energy launched simply after 8.30pm on Monday confirmed a digester truck had been struck by lightning round 7.20pm.

This befell on the Cassington AD Facility close to Yarnton.

Oxfordshire Hearth and Rescue Service was additionally known as to the incident at 7.17pm.
