The Shingle Spit in Whitstable

Whitstable is house to a road that disappears and reappears with the tide. The road known as Whitstable Avenue. It goes no-where however out to sea.
Whitstable Avenue is a shingle spit that juts out from the city of Whitstable into the ocean.
After we visited the tide was out and the road was uncovered. We joined quite a few canine walkers and vacationers to stroll out away from the city and in the direction of the ocean.
As we walked additional alongside the spit, the bottom grew to become more and more waterlogged. The extent of the sand fell ever so steadily throughout the size of the spit and on the edges. There was no nice drop off into the water. As an alternative stepping off the spit would have put your foot into solely a centimetre or so of water.



Indicators warn guests to watch out of the tide because the spit is submerged because the water is available in.
